Petros Xenakis was born in 1957 in Chania. In 1975 he moved to Rome where he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, with Professor Alessandro Trotti. After graduating he went back to Chania where he taught art classes in secondary school until 1992. From then on, he devoted himself exclusively to the art of painting.
He is considered one of the most exceptional Greek artists of his era. Particularly, he is highly praised for his portraits. Great collectors from all over the world sit in front of Petros Xenakis for a portrait of themselves or commission one for their loved ones. Furthermore, Xenakis is renowned for his marine pictures, which are mainly inspired by the beautiful seas and harbors of his homeland, Greece.
