Voilà! One of our new collaborations of which we are particularly proud: the iconic glass installation in the King George Hotel’s Atrium, in central Athens!
In this project, we aimed to integrate and align with the Hotel’s history, first opened in 1937, as well as reflect the love, support, and sensitivity of the owner’s Family, especially Mr Athanasios Laskaridis, regarding Art and Culture, openness to new ideas, along with the respect for classical values and archetypes. Besides, the King George Hotel is and will remain contemporarily chic and timelessly elegant.
The OliveTree and its Fruit endure time, nourish people, are a source of inspiration, symbolise Peace, Victory, Abundance, Life, Eternity.
After thorough research and in line with the global artistic trends, Lasvit Designers + Glass Makers, based in Bohemia, were chosen. Lasvit preserves the local, long-standing tradition of glass-making, while simultaneously elevating it to a free creative expression imbued with high aesthetic standards. As a result, a three-dimensional composition was designed with floating glass olive tree leaves creating a colourful image upon interaction with the light, while their shape, both familiar and truly extraordinary, evokes a mind healing experience, as mentioned on Lasvit’s website.
