Kostis Damoulakis

Visual artist 

Kostis Damoulakis, lives and practices his art in Athens since graduating from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2015. The visual language and subject matter of his works have been influenced by his early exposure in graffiti and tattoo art. His contemporary paintings, distinguished for their anthropocentric approach, examine urban city life and shed light to the invisible beauty of the daily mundane while incorporating symbols from different art movements, civilizations and chronological eras. 

His works are included in important Greek and International private collections, while his public murals can be found in various location in Greece and abroad. He has presented his work in solo exhibitions held at P.E.T. Projects, Athens; Neo Cosmos/LUC, Athens; and Mon- tana Gallery Barcelona, Spain. He has also taken part in group exhibitions held in numerous museums and arts venues (Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art (MOMus), Thessalon- iki; Lola Nikolaou Gallery, Thessaloniki; Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center, Athens (curated by Timoleon Oikonomopoulos & Maria Migadi O.E); A. Antonopoulou gallery, Athens; and the Athens School of Fine Arts, among others) and has participated in Art Thessaloniki Inter- national Art Fair (2018) and Art Athina (2023). Kostis Damoulakis is an exclusive artist of Martixart Advisory & Residency. He has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Artist Fellowship by the non profit organisation ARTWORKS (2022).
